What does your clinic consider the optimal age for egg freezing? The optimal egg for egg freezing is in women under the age of 40.
Once eggs are frozen, where are they stored? Eggs are stored in cryopreservation tanks in the IVF lab.
How long do you feel eggs can be stored safely? Eggs can be stored safely for an unlimited number of years.
Is there a cut-off age that you recommend for women to have eggs thawed, fertilized and transferred in a cycle?
We have no cut off age for women to use their frozen eggs.
What is the price range for freezing eggs, and what does that range cover?
The price for freezing eggs at HRC fertility is $5,000. That includes the IVF cycle, fertility drugs, and storage fee for the first year.
What is the most exciting aspect of ASRM lifting the experimental label? How do you think this will change the face of fertility treatment?
The most exciting aspect of lifting the ban on egg freezing is that it offers more women the opportunity to control their reproductive potential while they are young and the eggs are healthy. This gives them an insurance back up.
What should a woman look for in a clinic that does egg freezing?
You should look for a fertility clinic that has high success rates with vitrification of eggs in a state of the art lab, with experienced fertility doctors and embryologists.
